- Home pages are portals and window displays (a.k.a. sale pitches).
- Blogs are write-once short streams blurts of textual entities.
- Wikis are read/write buckets to hold (short) consensual textual opinions about stuff. But don't try to offer a rich/long structure within one Wiki entry.
- CMS are for highly structured entities.
- Photologs (like Flickr) excel at clever thumbnail generation and display.
Anyway, I'm re-organizing my webiness and step one was to create the home page portal. That's done (see http://menzies.us) so step two is to create my kind of CMS that can handle large entries that are loosely structured. Hmmm.... watch this space.
